Lightbulb How much is Enough

Good Day: While not everyone who had polio was affected in the same way, the same is true with pps. I had polio in both feet and legs, my right leg is smaller than the left. I can not do the things I did years ago, and I am getting older also. When polio struck it's damage to the nerves in our bodies it killed them off or weakened them. Other nerves begain to send out lines if you will to the affected arears in our bodies. It's like running an electrical line from a junction that recieves it power from another source, like the nerves sent out endings or line to replace the ones that were damaged. So what is going on now is that these nerves have been overworked, overloaded and are now either dying off or weaking. Each person will not be affected in the same way. My son-in-law father also had polio about the same age as me but he dose not have the same systoms as me. His job didn't require physcial strane on his body, he drew the plans for buildings and i built them. So each person has to get to know your bodies. Like when you go out side to work in the yard or flower garden time yourself see how long it takes you to start to feel tired or start hurting, write it down and then compare your notes. Only you will know how much is enough. Ronnie

Ronnie - Excellent advise- Keeping a log for about a week of just about everything you do, eat, etc. Including dressing, showing, eating ,walking- put what causes your pain, fatigue- You would be surprised...

I did a log before I went to Dr. Brunos and I was so surprised how much energy everything takes. So I try and get up(when I get out of bed) and realize I only have so many energy 'coins' for the day. Yes, I as still learning but knowledge is Golden...

Ronnie is also so right about how PPS affects people so different- like the Polio Virus did. Some people will lose more than others but I do think that as we all age, all of up will have some affects of PPS maybe just subtle affects.

Thanks Ronnie- Love hearing from you Great input Janet
