| Re: Sister Kenny Treatments
Hi Nelda, I didn't have the sister kenny treatments either, when I got polio the health dept. here sent me to warm springs. My dad was in a wheelchair so he was home all the time, He said I was parlyzied from the waist down and the treatment there was to put me in a straight-jacket to stop me from trying to move. But after about a year of that and he had had enough, every time he would take it off to give me a bath or try pt I would scream and cry he said he threw that thing in the fire and at my next appointment told them it was not working and he thought it was doing more harm than good. So no more straight-jackets for me. All I remember about warm springs is the braces and shoes I had to have every 6 months, they were high and we didn't have a lot of money. Now I have 2 braces and they are still high and we still don't have a lot of money: LOL But we keep on going, we are a puzzle to the rest of the world, but we can face more than most because we have been through more. have a blessed day Ronnie
