| Sabin vaccine distribution to Cincinnati school children
I was trying to verify when I received the Sabin vaccine in school. I thought we were given the Salk vaccine in about 1955 and the Sabin in about 1957. I've checked the internet and it says repeatedly that the Sabin was first given on April 24, 1960.
I am absolutely positive I did not get it as late as that. I was in high school then and I am positive I got it in elementary school. I recall wondering why we were getting it because we had already been given the Salk. I recall being somewhat concerned because it was a live virus.
Were there earlier distributions or am I losing my mind?
