Do post polio survivours take longer to heal from trauma?

I have recently been told that post polio survivors take up to four times as long as everyone else to recover from injury to muscles, tendons and ligament. due to low blood flow to these areas and nerve damage. Is this true?

Re: Do post polio survivours take longer to heal from trauma?

well i have heard it takes twice as long for polio survivors to heal from surgeries and such, not sure about the four times longer. I had a hip replacement and ended up with nerve damage from it,and it has been 14 months now since i had the surgery, and i am still not fully recovered from it yet.
