PCOS and weight loss...

Is it true that if I lose weight I can help myself with my chances of getting pregnant? I'm trying to do whatever I can to revese my symptoms to get PG with the help of a little medication. Any advice?

yes it is true. ask about metformin...a lot of women who have no other problems can and do have babies. I have two kids now. good luck.

Re: PCOS and weight loss...

Loosing the weight will do what metformin does. If you loose the weight you have less insulin resistance. This disease can be a stepping stone to type 2 diabetes so loosing the extra body fat will TOTALLY help.

Re: PCOS and weight loss...

I'm a perfect example of someone who has PCOS and we tried 2 years to have a child. I was sent to a fertility specialist he put me on Metformin and gave me a very stern lecture about diet and exercise. I lost 27 lbs over 5 months by diet and exercise and was on Metformin at the time as well. I now have a beautiful healthy 3 month old little girl at the age of 32. I had some bleeding the first trimester and the specialist put me on bedrest and progesterone. Aside from that my pregnancy was healthy. I was convinced I'd never have a child even with IVF or Clomide but I got lucky and the Metformin and lifestyle change helped. Good luck.
