Hello,
I'm not a doctor but I have had PCOS for many years. Yes she could have this but she may also not have this. She should talk to her doctor and have an
internal ultrasound done, because a lot of people can not be detected with a regular ultrasound. Also, she will have to have lots of blood work done to determine if she has the syndrome. between the two the doctor should be able to determine whether or not she has it. but at the very least with these tests she can determine what is going on. No matter if she has it or not, she should not go more than 3 months without having a period. She can take 10mg provera for 10 days to enduce her period. If she goes longer than 3 months without having a period, she increases her risks of much worse conditions/diseases. If she has this, I would recommend having her monitored with a reproductive gyno because they are usually more knowledgeable on this subject. if she does, tell her not to be afraid, because this is a very manageable disease. good luck.
