Need Help - Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Message Board

I took my daughter to the Dr. to have blood tests done. Thought her hormones might be out of wack since she has a problem with acne and excessive facial hair. Dr. ran a full blood workup and when I called to check on results she said everything was fine with the tests. But, says maybe my daughter should have an ultra sound to rule out PCOS. I looked it up and she has only a few of the symptoms, acne, facial hair, dandruff & one skin tag under her arm. She has some excess weight in her hips and thighs but her waist is tiny.Her periods aren't what I would call that irregular. They might be a week late sometimes with heavy flow and have been more painful of late. Does this match anyone's symptoms? I hate to subject her to an internal ultrasound for nothing. I can't even get her to use a tampon!!!!
She's so squeemish!! She hasn't had a pap smear yet but is finally ready to schedule one of those. But, I don't know about this ultra sound thing. She's going to be a basket case when she finds out.

When I was diagnosed with PCOS they did blood work and an ultrasound. I did not need and internal ultrasound because I came to my appointment with a full bladder as they advised. I knew that there was a possibility of having to have the other type if my bladder was not full enough so I made sure I was FULL. I was soooo uncomfortable but at least it was not invasive.
