According to one of the endos I used to see, there is another test measures testosterone...something about testosterone offsetting another hormone and if THAT was elevated, then it can indicate abnormal testosterone levels.
I remember this because he said that my testosterone levels were normal according to the first test (the one that measures it directly), yet he ran this other test to try and concluded that my testosterone levels were indeed elevated.
I don't know why it works that way, but it does for some people, for some reason.
I would highly suggest talking to your endo about this. I'm sure she/he could explain it to you a lot better.
