Hey all.

I just wanted to introduce myself... I have been very frustrated lately with doctors not being supportive so I have been looking for people with similar situations that might be more empathetic.

I'm Rosa and I have "possible pcos". I quote my doctors that I have seen many times over the past year but won't Dx me.

I'm 22 and I went off of the pill a year ago because of horrible side effects. I was on bc for 5 years (with normal cycles) and Depo for a year before that. Since going off the pill I have had my period once in the past year, about 4 months ago. I also have excess hair growth on my face and neck, and am overweight but can't seem to shed a pound.

My doctor won't put me on any treatment though because I did get my period after a course of provera, she also tells me that if I lose 50 lbs and let time "take it's course" my hormones will even out eventually.

I'm at a loss of what to do I guess... I was told that if after a year off of bcp I still had the same problems they would start looking for other causes... It just seems so frustrating not being able to do anything for something that has gone on for a year!

Sometime in the next month I will be going back and hopefully get a Dx.

I should also add that I have had moderate acne since I was about 12 and it was helped by being on bcp but I also have OCD and pick at my face so it looks 100x worse.
