Unhappy Hi to everyone from a worried newbie

wave:

I have been reading for the last two days about everyone's stories and thinking so i'm not the only one.
My Story in as brief as possible is, Met my partner 4 yrs ago and knew he was the one,so we never took precautions. But after a year of nothing happening went to the doctors who said i had nothing to worry about to come back in another year and we'll see then if there is anything wrong.I told him my weight had increased facial hair and my periods were irregular like once in 6 mnths his reply was and quote " who said you need to have periods" as you can imagine i was not happy. Then luckily i was reading a magazine which had an article about PCOS and every condition stated i had, so i took the magazine to my doctor again and demanded to be tested.
I was reffered to a wonderful specialist who really put me at ease but 3 years later and still no baby. They tried me on provera and clomid for 3 months but that never worked even doubling the dose, i was then put on metformin but couldn't take the side affects felt really horrible,i then had last year a lap and dye test, which found that one of my tubes was blocked, they hoped my period might return but nothing, they then tried me on clomid and metformin again hoping that the procedure and drilling of ovaries may help but i never.
I am now really worried because on the 14th may i start the gonadotrophin injections but only on the condion i lose weight.I have to lose 10 kg which i'm really trying i'm going to the gym 3 times a week eating healthy but it's not moving. I'm Really scared and would likesome advice on how to try and lose the weight
ANY ADVICE
(sorry about length but i needed to get it of my chest)

Thanks Bubbles29

I lost 50lbs last year and what did it for me was walking 5 miles per day, 6 days a week!!!! It was a lot of walking, but the weight fell off in 5 months!!! I've since gotten lazy and quit walking and have gained 30 of what I lost back..........so I've recently began walking again.

Re: Hi to everyone from a worried newbie

Hey bubbles

I have had a similar problem trying to lose weight, I was diagnosed two and a half years ago when I was 19 (I'm nearly 22), after putting on a lot of weight and still having really bad teenage skin, being tired all the time, and lots of the other classic symptoms. I ate healthily and got loads of exercise too anyway but since then I've been on a very strict diet and doing five aerobics classes a week as well as swimming three times a week and I'm on my feet all day at work anyway, apart from making me even more exhausted no luck though . After two years of fighting, GP has finally put me on metformin (consultant requested this two yrs ago) but so far I feel no better and its having no effect on periods or weight loss or energy levels, and stomach cramps have got much worse. Getting very very down about it all now, I want to be able to wear clothes like my friends can, not shop in shops for larger people etc etc, and I want my hard work to pay off, particularly as I know the weight issue could make conceiving harder in the future! So rest assured you aren't the only one!!

Lauren

Re: Hi to everyone from a worried newbie

I had a similar situation. I have PCOS and Clomid didn't work for me either. So, I lost about 30 pounds using Weight Watchers. I used the injectables and on the third cycle, I got pregnant and now have a wonderful 23-month old son. I'm now trying for #2 and have been using Femara, which made me ovulate, but my doctor wants to switch me to Clomid again to see if that works. If not, then I'll have to try the injectables again. I hope this helps you.
