| Re: Q's about metformin
Hi Sheila, I myself have been on metformin in the past, had a lot of other things going on as well, so stopped for a while. Long story short, I just started back on the met about two months ago. Prior to the met, I was cycling about every 3-4 months. About a month after being on the met I had a very light cycle. Three weeks later(now) I am having a very strong cycle, like I used to before all this crap started 4 years ago. I was experiencing pms symptoms that I hadn't had in 4 years prior to this cycle. My doc only has me on 1000 mg/day. He never mentioned anything about increasing over time. I will at least be on the 1000 for 6 months. I have already noticed a big change in my daily hormone levels, which were usually through the roof.
So to answer your question, give your body a good month or two to get used to the new medication and don't be freaked if your cycles get a little off in the beginning. I was a strict 32 dayer prior to all this and this current cycle was 21 days. So just give it a few months and have patience with it.
