Hi Everyone

,

I have recently been diagnosed with pcos and have the usual symmptoms
Excesive weight gain,acne,irregular peiods and infertility and am currently getting infertility treatment. The problem i have is that they cannot give me anything for the acne or weight problem b/c of the if treatment i have therefore been adv to try the gi diet which i have done for three days and i now want to end my own life!(on a more serious note)ive tried atkins, excercise,south beach,healthy eating,weightwatchers,slimming world nothing is working!!

Any ideas? i dont want to get to the fromt of the list for my other treatment and get knocked back b/c im too fat(its not go to that stage yet but im worried it will)

Please help!

What kind of fertility treatment are you going through? I have PCOS diagnosed back in Nov 06 and I go to a RE. I am currently being treated for infertility as well and they gave me glucophage for treatment and to help get my cycles back to normal. I am getting ready to start a drug that stops estrogen i forget what it's called but it is stronger than clomid and progesterone suppositories all while on glucophage.

I know it's so frustrating. But keep this in mind...at least you know what is causing the excessive weight gain!

I gained 30lbs in the past 2 years. My old Dr. never even thought to check me for anything physical, just told me that I was letting myself go. My new Dr. has figured out my pcos and so has a lot more compassion for my situation. And becasue of that, it's not as frustrating.

But it's still not fun to know you could stand to lose weight. Are you exercising at all along with your new diet? I'm not familiar with the GI diet, although I may need to make myself familiar pretty soon. Have you been sent to a nutritionist or a dietition? They may be able to help you see where you may be ingesting more calories than you think. Sometimes foods that we think are healthy are worse than they really are.

I am on my second round of iui at the moment as my hubby has had low motility previously also.
I am getting puregon injections ranging from 50iu to 150iu followed by a booster injection when folicles are over a size of 1.6, then the actual iui.
How about you? Havnt seen you around if boards!

Sorry it took me so long to reply no net at home at the moment.

Funny thats just what the gi diet is all about,when you think you are doing good eating melon instead of grapes or chocolate your body is turning it to sugar.
Im on the brittish heart foundation diet-diet 3days off for four its hard though but you lose about 10lb in 3days. Probably will go back on quick but im just hating myself at the mo!!!
