Periods for 2 and a half months with only a 2 day break!! - Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Message Board

I am wondering if anyone can shed a little light on my situation!? I have never had regular periods but this time around my period has been going for 2 and a half months and i have only had a 2 day break in between (I say "break" but it was actually 2 days when i just had spotting!) Before this period started i had 6 months where i had no period at all! is this just a cruel trick my body is playing on me? I am also trying to concieve so taking the pill is out of the question! I guess what i am trying to say is... Is this normal or should i be worried!? Thanks for taking the time to read this! x

Having a cycle longer than the average amount of time is just as bad as not having one for a long time. In my opinion, you should go see your GYN and pass this information to her.

When first coming into this topic, I was assuming you were on a medication, but it doesn't seem to be the case...

Thanks, i forgot to mention that i have been taking metformin for a few months but i did stop taking it for a month due to crap side effects! x
