Re: journey

Hi Christina, the main key is really to lose the weight, eat healthy and exercise. Please keep in mind that many doctors will tell you to lose some weight if you want to get pregnant. And that's what happened to me, I had to lose 25lbs before trying to get pregnant. I don't know what is going on with your period, you say tests results came back fine but obviously something is wrong. I would suggest maybe going to a different doctor, an IVF specialist would be great. I went through 3 different doctors until I found someone who knew exactely what to do.
I also take metformin and it has helped me a lot in keeping my blood sugar level to a normal number and it has also helped me have my period every month. It took me over a month to get used to metformin because I also had nausea and was very constipated, but eventually my stomach got used to it. If you don't have allergy to it maybe you should give it another try? But you should talk to a doctor first.
Regarding your facial hair, I also had a lot of it. I tried laser hair removal and it was a disaster, it didn't work at all. The only thing that worked was electrolysis, it was more painful than laser but cheaper and the results amazing, I haven't had any hairs on my face for 3 years now.
Please don't lose hope a lot of women with PCOS get pregnant with the right treatment. All the best to you and lots of babydust.

Re: journey

thanks solange a lot boosted my hopes up.. yes the endocrinolgist wants me to start a new kind of SR metformin.. i have the prescription just can never force myself to take it.. im very scared of meds due to years of psychiatric meds messing my system up.. I read all the labels of meds and then i get worried i am going to have all the symptoms... lol.. yes i tried laser and lady charged my credit card 850.00 for 1 dam session, i surely called my credit card and reported it.. thats not right, and my hair still came back 3 weeks later.. I just use VEET now, its hair removal cream and its in expensive.. i buyy in bulk at SAMS club.. works wonders on my face and legs lol... i never tried electrolisis, but im a real baby for pain.. i hate the dentist and cant even take the dam drill...i do take synthroid 125mcg for 10years now so thats good at least.. i am quite overweight, and i barely eat, but never excersise.. i do have a gym membership, but never go.. wow lol.. i am shy and have high anxiety to loads of people.. i guess my self esteem is low from being so over weight.. do you have pcos or insulin resistance?nice 2 meet you

Re: journey

Not eating is the worse thing you can do to lose weight. If you are still overweight, then (not eating) it's not working for you. You should eat about 4-5 times a day, eat small meals. You should be eating things such as whole grains, fruits, veggies, lean meats, fish, healthy carbs, something like the South Beach diet. It might be a good idea to go and talk to a nutricionist too.
Something that might help you a little at the gym is to workout in the women's only section (if they have one) also working out with a friend helps a lot. You also don't have to be stuck at a gym, you can go out for walks, ride a bike, don't take the elevator, instead go up the stairs. If you don't like to be around people you can get exercise tapes or DVDs and do them at home. Just a couple of ideas.
I have PCOS and that's why I'm taking metformin and I've been taking it for many years. I know you don't like metformin but just give it some extra time and you might get used to it. I know you don't like to take meds but Metformin is really good for women with PCOS.
All the best to you and stay positive.
