Hey PCOSers...

Besides fertility/ovulating problems, what PCOS symptoms do you have?

I have thinning hair (on my head), couldn't live without a good waxing every six weeks, have irregular periods and I am overweight.

Textbook symptoms, I'm told... How about you?

In addition to the infertility issues, I have thinning hair on my head, excessive hair growth on my face and body. I'm overweight, high cholesterol, acne, and borderline diabetic. Before the PCOS got really bad, I was thin as a rail, had thick beautiful curly hair, and loved to date. Now I don't want anyone to touch me because of the hair growth. Nothing like PCOS to make you feel feminine huh?
Sorry don't mean to sound so bitter but I hate this PCOS and what it has done to me.

Beside infertility problems, I have acne, can't live without waxing my face every 2 weeks. I am overweight, and I don't have periods at all, even on birth control. My doctor really annoyed me the first time I went to the fertility clinic as he tried to tell me that being overweight is not a symptom of PCOS. He said that it worsens PCOS, and that if I lost weight, my symptoms would go away. I have done sooooo much research, and all the books that I've read say otherwise.
Ok sorry...needed to vent a little... hehehe

Hi Ladies,

I really don`t have any symptoms , I have pcos and amenorrhea (No Period from Nov 2001) the only new thing happened to me is that I gained about 20 Lbs I was 110 lbs and I drink ensure to gain weight as I was so skinny I reached 129 during this period I surprised that I stop having periods but now I am on Metformin and I lost 5 LBs but my Dr told me that I am no over weight at all. after taking Metformin one month I got a period , so I think Metformin helps alot in pcos` ers

Vino : I just want to tell you that I also don`t have period from Nov 2001 my DR put me on birth control 3 months and I get period but I am now taking a rest so my Dr put me on Metformin for 3 to 6 months I started taking it from a month and I get period this days for the first time on my own and I will keep taking it for 5 months may be I will ovulate by my own again , So you can ask your DR my dear about Metformin I think it will help in your case
