Metformin or Clomid
I am a 28 years old and recently diagnosed with PCOS. I am healthy, normal weight, thyroid and hormone levels are normal, and have no other symptoms of PCOS except for slightly irregular periods. I recently went to my OB/GYN because of my irregular periods and we had been trying to conceive for the past 4 months. I had been on birth control for 10 years and prior to that my periods were regular. My cycle is usually 28-34 days with normal bleeding. I was not only diagnosed with PCOS, but also have endometrial polyps (having them removed with a D&C in a few weeks). After my cycle restarts s/p surgery, I will be started on either metformin or clomid. My dr. and I have briefly discussed both of them. I have been doing my research, however, when it comes down to it I am very unsure of which route I would like to go. My dr. is leaning towards clomid rather than metformin. I'm very early in the game of TTC, would a RE be someone I should already be seeing? Does anyone have experience with both clomid and metformin? I would prefer answers from those who have a similar history to me as "losing weight" will not help me. However, any words of advice/experience would be kindly accepted.
