WILL the lexapro im starting for my ocd will that help with my post traumatic stress of the death of my brother from 1 yr ago. my brother was strangled in a hospital and i have had a hard time dealing with it and sometimes i get an eary feeling that someone is trying to do that to me even though nobody is so anybody know if lexapro helps?thxs for your time.........

I guess there is not much people with ptsd because I have not received a reply on my post.
I am not sure what will help but I can feel your pain on your lose. I lost my brother back in 1993, he was stabbed in the heart and I get those same feelings you do. It's hard and it will remain to stay hard for years but it get easier. Let me know if you find your answer because I am thinking about requestion the same thing for depression and anxiety.

hi i have PTSD from the death of my duaghter 8 years ago. tried lex for menopausal symptoms and it aggravated my PTSD. i take klonopin. it is the only thing that has worked for me in combination with a good PTSD therapist.

I take clonopen for sleeping which seems to lost it's effect. I tried Ativan as well and it helps everyonce and a while but not good enough. I noticed when I drink alcohol I dont have that issue with PTSD but once wants to drink alcohol just to go out everytime.
I am going to ask my doctor about Lexapro tomorrow...

hey boritaliano im sorry i havent written back any sooner i havent been on here..my deepest condolences about your brother also.....lfe w/out my brother cant and will never be the same it sucks very bad..did you try the lexapro i actually held off on taking mine until today i hope it helps............good luck let me know if you got any lexapro and if it is helping you take care ......................
