Re: a ?? bout my son

Self injury is a way for the person to regulate the pain or pressure in his or her body. I am a cutter, though I have not left a mark in months, and the days I was overwhelmed by what it seemed everything I would cut and it seemed to help me snap out of it. It was the most reliable medicine in my life for it always worked. Through counseling and medicayion I have been able to stop though I still think about it everyday

take care

Re: a ?? bout my son

tthanks tons ffor replying, trg. may i ask whn you did cut, did you cut increesngly deep? it has ggottn stedily wrrs wth my son. he bleeds qquite a bbit. i ffeer that som of tthe cuts cood use som stiches. is tthis in ressponse to the intternal pressur/pain he feels and ccant relees? i feel so helpless. he talkss to me about it but only haltngly and aftrwrrd, but at leest ffor that i'm ggratful. andd we r in tthe prosess of ggettng him, like i ssed, on SSDI.
but its horribl tto see him hrrt like tthat.
is tther anytthng i ccan do to help him?
thanks ffor explaaning it, ffor tellng me som of tthe 'why'.

Re: a ?? bout my son

W
hen I started cutting I started with a fingernail, then off to an exacto knife, then razors and finally a shearing knife, The cuts started very small then grew with time the last series of cuts go from the wrist to the elbow on the fore hand sign. Some of the ways people use instead of cuts is wear an elastic band on their wrist and snap it when the urge comes or put an ice cube in his hand and squeeze it. The big thing with cutting/self injury is its lot like a drug and over time you need more and more to hit the level you are looking for. I wish I could say something or suggest something that would kill the thing that is driving your son to hurt himself but I can't

take care
