Re: am down psychologist am seeing not sure if he helping

Hi Beth11,

I an a ** and was attacked by a patient too, I saw my "work" psychologist who didnt help me - then I found out my car insurance had a psychologist service - $1000 about 8 visits he is in private practice and he really helped me - I think he may have helped me to save my life as I was in a very dark place, if you have car insurance see if they have a similar service - it's not generally something they advertise, or is there a way you can see another psychologist?

I also found that this incident seemed to trigger other old one's, a man who chased me with a weapon (trying not to say anything that may trigger anyone else) and some sexual assault when I was a child/teenager - these were things that I thought I had dealt with - but they came back - the only way I got through it was by talking it out with my psych it was not easy and I still have things to work out but it helped me - I hope you can find the help you need - if not then keep talking here - it really helps.

Are you on meds for the seizures?

Re: am down psychologist am seeing not sure if he helping

hi beth. i hope you have a way to find a professional who is willing to help better. i just wanted to add a note, because my friends husband was having some issues. the doc put him on a medicine for "post traumatic stress". he was warned to watch, because this drug can cause a dangerous rash in the first 2-8 weeks. well, he began having symptoms, fever, nausea. went to doc, then clinic, then emerg. over time. they kept saying he had flu. then the rash started. they went to the next town, the doc garaunteed them it was NOT the medicine, but flu. rash spread over entire body. back to emerg, same doc practically yelled at them ITS NOT THE ****.(medicine). guess what, it WAS the meds. when the next doc on shift heard the other doc and the commotion, he took over. my friends husband was admitted to a burn unit a day or so later for several days, and is now on prednisone for next few weeks, strong dose. just wanted to say, be careful to read the paper that comes with any meds, and ask doc about side effects, as this one is used for ptsd.
