Post post partum depression?????

Hello to all! I am a new mother. My daughter is a2 1/2 months old and is just a joy! I love every minute I have with her. Unfortunately, I had to return to work on the 20th and it is very hard for me. She is in a daycare and I have been happy with them but I am wondering if maybe I have post partum depression. I have her picture as my wallpaper on my computer and it is hard for me to actually get any work done b/c I just want to sit and stare at her picture all day. I am very weepy and miss being pregnant EXTREMELY!!! I feel my tummy every now and then and am bummed that she is no longer in there and that I can not feeling her move all day long. I loved that so much and miss her so much. I would do anything to be able to stay home with her but my DH and I just can not afford me to not work right now. We are working on that so hopefully before to long I will be able to stay home but right now it is killing me. I just abolutely miss her during the day and miss being pregnant and I am sooooo looking forward to getting pg again! We are going to wait at least a year but I am already starting to count the days and my little angel just got here! I don't want this to effect my time with her and when I am with her I am extremly happy but miss being pg sooo much. Am I normal or should I call my Dr.? Thank you so much and I know this is long.

Hi:

Congratulations on your baby girl

It sounds like a seperation issue to me.

The same thing happened to me when I had my little boy 3 years ago. Being a single mom there was really no way I could not work.

I did change jobs so that I could be closer to him with not so much commute time. But when my baby was 7-1/2 weeks old I had to start me new job.

After dropping him off at the sitters I would cry EVERY morning, think about him ALL day and then rush to get him EVERY night.

It was horrible. Although I still miss him terribly throughout the day and can't wait to see him, it is better. It takes a long time to adjust to not having them constantly.

Keep your chin up.

Keep us posted.

God bless you and your little one.

Have you thought about doing daycare in your home? When my dd was little, I worked for about 1 yr, then I decided that I needed to be home with her. I started up my own daycare, worked the hours I chose, and made enough money for me to stay home. I loved it!

good luck!
Lindy

Thank you guys so much for your words of encouragement! I have thought about in home daycare and I would like to do it but don't even know where to begin and I am not sure that with just me, I would be able to make the $ I need to. Thank you!

Maybe you could work at your baby's daycare if a position ever came available. Maybe you'd be able to make enough money and also get a big discount on your baby's daycare. Then you'd be able to see her all the time! Just a thought...
Hang in there... I think your feelings are completely normal. You only had her 2 1/2 months ago, so your hormones are still way out of whack too (In my opinion it takes quite awhile for them to get to normal!) I think it will get easier with time...
Good luck!
