Lightbulb What do you think triggers the development of PPD?

I am a nursing student who is also working on getting my bachelors degree in social work and want to specialize in Labor and delivery. I am doing research on PPD and how nurses can effectivley care for a new mother who develops this condition. I am trying to see if there are certain events that might bring on the onset of PPD and what steps that someone that has had it was able to take to get over it faster. Any information and personal experiences would be greatly apreciated. Thank you.
