Since very early september, I have not been getting any more than 4-5 hours of sleep a night, quite often less, due to a ridiculous workload I have thanks to the IB diploma programme. I have also not had my period at all since that time either, and now that is it late november I am starting to get worried.
My cycle has always been irregular. There would be times when I'd go months without a period or when I would bleed for 3 weeks straight, although recently it had not been so extreme.
I did have unprotected sex 3 or 4 times since late august, using the pull-out method, but have not displayed any symptoms of pregnancy at all other than the missed periods.
Stress and sleep deprivation are known factors of late/skipped periods, but I was wondering if it would be this dramatic?
Yes, sleep deprivation and stress could throw off your cycle that much.
However, since pregnancy is possible, I suggest you buy a test in the drugstore and test. If it's been at least 2 weeks since the last time you had sex, it should be reasonably effective. After 4 weeks, the test is very effective.
And buy some condoms while you are there! You don't need any more stress in your life.
I'll need to start yelling at the boyfriend to suck it up a wear a condom. The reason we haven't been using them is because he has problems finding ones roomy enough, but it's just not worth the anxiety.
There are very very few men who don't fit in a standard condom. And it needs to be a little tight to work. It's your body, you have the right to insist on reliable birth control.
