First Menstrual Cycle after getting tubes tied

Hello,

My wife and I had a baby (3rd) about 3 months ago, and she had a c-section and had her tubes tied. Well she stopped breast feeding, and is having her first menstrual cycle. She is saying she is bleeding very very heavy and has been for about 2 days now. Is this normal after having surgery and not having a menstrual cycle for almost a year, and having her tubes tied? Our 2nd child was also a c-section and she did not have this happen? Just wondering if there could be something wrong, or if we should call her doctor?

Re: First Menstrual Cycle after getting tubes tied

It's normal after having tubes tied that periods are heavier. I had my tubes tied after having my last child, also my 3rd child. For me it's a lot heavier than it was before. Before i had my tubes tied it was pretty average i'd say...not too heavy. now it's like someone turned a faucet on for a day or two. Unfortunitly it's a side effect of having tubes tied, i'm surprised that the doctor never mentioned it to her.
