Sex and pregnancy

I am ninteen weeks and haven't had sex since around 6/7 weeks because of past complications. Today, the doctor gave me the OK, but said to be easy. I am terrified. I want to have sex, that isn't the issue. I know that my cervix is more sensitive and if I see any blood I will freak out. I don't think I can handle seeing blood after finally getting rid of it.

Do any of you have suggestions on how to be "easier"? How do you have sex while pregnant?

Re: Sex and pregnancy

Thanks. That is what happened to me. I spotted for two months.

We were just careful and I haven't spotted so far.

Are you spotting just from the sex?

Re: Sex and pregnancy

Sorry you are going through this. They didn't know why I was spotting, but it fixed itself. I rested a lot, no lifting, no strenuous physical activities, I wasn't even allowed to leave town. I am now 19 weeks and finally have a semi-normal pregnancy.

I trust my doctor and he never seemed to be too worried and so far, me and the baby are fine. Do what your doctor tells you to do. I will keep you in my prayers.

Re: Sex and pregnancy

I have no idea what I would do if I would be spotting because my hubby wouldnt be able to handle not having sex for so long. I hope all goes well with all of you and I hope I wont be in your situation!

Good luck

Re: Sex and pregnancy

I hope you don't have to, either.

So far, no spotting, no cramping. The sex did hurt a little because it had been a long time. Other than that, it felt pretty normal.
