Movement

First of all...I am a first time mother (explains a lot)

I am 20 weeks and I have been feeling the baby for a few weeks now. However, some days it seems that the baby is more active than others. I am starting to grasp the concept that this is normal and not to worry unless I don't feel any movement for a long period of time. My question is: what causes them to move more on some days and not as much on others?

Re: Movement

In the beginning, when you first feel movement, it's not regular at all. It takes a few weeks for you to feel the baby all the time. The baby is moving a lot more than you feel, but its movements aren't all strong enough for you to feel yet. When you begin to feel the baby all the time, they have quiet days and busy days.

Re: Movement

Also i have been told if you are up and busy that is like rocking them to sleep. So when you are up and busy they are usually sleeping. Then when you go to bed they wake up and want to move. Internt this keeps you up all night. I am almost 35 weeks and do feel the baby move alot then i did at 20 weeks, but some days she move more then others. My doctor told me if i was that worried about her movement two eat something sweet and and then lay on my left side(for some reaason it's better to lay on that side) and count baby kicks. He said i should feel at leat 4 an hour. Now i was farther along at that time then you. I think can't remember for sure i was like 25-28 weeks along. Somewhere in there. I don't know for sure when the baby kick count really works. Call you doctor and ask to get some reasurrance. I think you are fine. This is normal for you not to feel baby all the time. Good Luck with the pregnancy.
