Hi everyone and congrats on the babies coming! I had a question and I was hoping someone could answer. I am currently not pregnant, I do have a 16 month old daughter. I want to have only one other child. I reallly want to have a boy. I am planning to try to conceive again next year. I was reading some sites online about natural gender selection, like postions and timing and stuff like that. I was wondering if anyone on here has done any type of this and if it worked? Thanks!
well i am currently trying for a boy as well doing the positioning and all that.....so if i become preg. i will be able to tell you if it worked in about 4 months!
good luck to you
wish me luck too!
To me, it totally depends on which sperm reaches your egg... whether it has the "y" or "X" cell... I WISH we could decide... I wanted a girl so badly, but knew it was simply going to be about whether or not the sperm that made it to the egg had the right cell. Good luck!!

You can read the book Taking Charge Of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. It has some info in there and then she refers to other books that might help.
With my second even though I wanted a girl I knew in my heart that we would have another boy. We had BDed the day I Oed and that is the highest chance of havng a boy. Four months later it was confirmed through u/s.

the male sperm are said to be more fragile and swim alot faster than the female sperm (which are hardier and sluggish) but live longer than the male sperm
so say you ovulate on the 6th and had intercourse on the 5th, well it is possible that by that time the males have died off and the vast majority left are females. then you have a good chance of a girl baby.
or lets say you ovulate on the 6th and have intercourse that exact same day, well you have a good chance of a boy because the male sperm will outswim the females to the egg....a better chance of a boy.
the reason positions are important is because if you want a boy you will want to be in a position where your partner and penetrate you deeply at the time of ejaculation. because the male sperm will then have an even grater advantage over the females
now if you want a girl try a position that wont give that deep penetration (missonary style) for example.
Chrissi,
What you said is the info I got online. It makes sense going by my friend's way of conceiving both a girl and a boy. She wasn't trying for a specific sex though. I wish you the best of luck on conceiving a boy! I am not going to try till next year, but when I do I'll let you know if it worked!
