I Was Wondering Are You Able To Get A Perm While Your Pregnant Or Even Dye Your Hair Because I Am 6 Months And Was Going To Get A Perm But A Friend Said That I Shoudn't Please Let Me Know If Any Of You Know

Hi, during my 3rd pg I finally asked my doc if it was ok to color my hair and he sadi yeah.
I love my doc and totally trust him.

So I color my hair. Not sure about the perm. You should ask your doc.

i have heard alot for and against this....but i can remeber reading that coloring was ok although the smell my get to you.....
ask the dr.

I heard that's it ok to color, but that because of hormones the perm won't take like it's supposed to.

I've heard that the reason it is not recommended to colour (especially permanant) or perm your hair while pregnant is that hormones can affect the way it works. Sometimes people will become more sensitive to the peroxides and ammonias used and for others it may not have the desired effect (be it colour or curl).

I've also heard of a few stories where people have actually lost hair, though I'm not sure how true that is.

i've been told as long as the the colorant has natural stuff in it but the idea is the fumes.. now perms to straighted have hormones in them and that is oneof the things they warn you about

I didn't do anything in the 1st trimester. But I did start coloring again in the 2nd and 3rd. I also got a perm at about 8 months (so it would be relaxed and easy to fix after the baby) they don't guarantee the perm or color will take, but I had no problems at all with either one. And Kaleb was perfectly healthy!!
