If a woman is experiencing an ectopic pregnancy, would a pregnancy test still show a positive? What are some different symptoms other than the norm associated with a normal pregnancy found with ectopic pregnancy? Whether or not I'm pregnant I don't know. I am now a week late. But have gone a week late many times so not too worried yet. What worries me though is the fact that I've had a very unusual pain on my right side in my lower abdomin area like close to right ovary. It is kind of like the feeling when you hold your pee for so long and it starts to get a crampy hurt feel. Thats how it feels 24/7, I go to the bathroom all the time just incase I have to go and can't tell that I have to go. Any ideas?
the test could be pos. or neg, shows different with everyone. But you need too see a dr. I had the same thing happen to me about 2 wks ago, but mine went away after a few days, if it had been an ectopic it would not have stopped and never come back. hope this helps

lilmom is right. It can be either. I knew I was pg and began to experience pain similar to what you're experiencing. They had me in right away for an U/S to make sure everything was okay. Turns out I just had an ovarian cyst that the pregnancy was aggravating. But it's better to be safe than sorry. I'd recommend you get to a doctor because the earlier they detect it, the easier it is to resolve without surgery. It can be fatal if it ruptures.

A friend of mine went thougth ectopic pregnancy about a year ago. She said the pain was unbearable. She was in bed with pain. I know that in my first trimester i had alot of pain and cramping.Doctor said it was normal streaching and the attaching. Call your doctor to give yourself comfort. Thats the only real way to know what is going on.
