What if any dangers are there with low blood pressure and pregnancy? I have always ran low and I know high blood pressure is bad, but I can imagine that having low is not all that good either. At my appt the nurse took it 3 times thinking it was wrong. It was about 100/60. Thanks for the advise.
My BP always runs low too, sometimes even into the 90's. This has always caused me to have alot of lightheadedness during PG, but didn't cause any problems with my first.
The only thing to watch out for: Low blood pressure is a side effect of the epidural, (that's why they give you all those IV fluids before hand to prevent it) and those who run low anyway have to be extra careful. Mine bottomed out to 84/40 during labor even after I recieved lots of fluids and caused my sons heart rate to plummet and stay down. So they had to pump me full of epinephrine to get my BP back up. (Which then gave me the horrible jitters and heart palpitations) But it worked, and his heart rate came back up and stayed up and he was fine.

I also have low blood pressure, just about the same as yours generally. I was concerned and talked to my dr. about it. He said it was fine but b/c I do get light headed and occassionally faint from it dropping lower to be very aware of how I'm feeling b/c I need to be careful not to fall and hurt the baby. Other than increased chances of falling he said not to worry. I also talked to him about the possiblity of having an epidural and he recommended against it b/c of the problems w/ blood pressure. It would be nice to have one but its not worth it to me to put the baby in danger.
I have always had low blood pressure, it normally ranges from 90/55 - 100/60. My doc had no concerns about it and I haven't had any problems since becoming pregnant. My BP was still low in the first trimester but it has gone up since then and my ranges have been closer to 110/80. Actually I rarely had any lightheadedness due to the low BP although my family doc always warned me about it, and I haven't had any since becoming pregnant.
Hey my reading at my appt. earlier this month is the exact same as yours LOL...I was a tad worried but figured the nurse didn't bat an eyelash at it...and my books say your BP will drop a bit during pregnancy so I figured it wasn't too low to cause any worries.
