Okay I am 15 days into my cycle (a 30 day cycle) and i was checking my CM and noticed some light pink light blood. What is this. Could I have ovulated earlier and not known and this be implantation bleeding? Can you spot during ovulation? DH and I are TTC our #1 child so I am new to this. can anyone help!

Re: What The Heck

Yep, yep, yep, you can spot midcycle No worries, it happens to many women. But try not to get hung up on implantation spotting.. it rarely (some experts say never) happens. It seems to be one of those things that sprung up on the internet and gets repeated like it actually happens all the time.

Good luck with the baby making!

Re: What The Heck

Bleeding around o is pretty common. I've never experienced it myself, but I know the books talk about it happening to a lot of women. (although, just because you have it this cycle, I don't think that means you should expect it every cycle, or even ever again. I think sometimed it just happens.)

As far as implantation bleeding, I had bleeding around the time of implantation with both of my pregnancies. I've heard before that it is just a myth, but try to explain that to my pink-stained undies 5-7 days after ovulation! I know that not everyone experiences it, but I sure did.

Also, although I think she was using the term loosely, when I went into the dr. for an emergency visit because I had some bleeding at 6w6d, she called the bleeding implantation bleeding. She said there is so much going on in the uterus in early pregnancy with the babies attaching (I have twins), the uterus stretching, things shifting, that bleeding is actually quite common, and she calls all of that "implantation bleeding."

Re: What The Heck

I think what you said is more correct--a lot of people use the term "implantation bleeding" to refer to any type of spotting that occurs in early pregnancy. Technically, it's not usually from the egg implanting..at that point the egg is still a microscopic speck. But other things can happen around that time that can cause spotting, like you mentioned. It's just that this whole "implantation" bleeding thing seems to have sprung up online and everyone looks for it as if it's a sure sign of pregnancy.

PS. Congrats on the twins! How exciting for you!
