Hi ladies. I've been pregnant since August 12 (am a May mommy) but didn't find out until September 30. Through August, the worst thing I did to my baby was smoke (cigarettes) and take an antibiotic for acne (not accutane though.) Through beginning and mid-September though, I began my 'yearly college partying days' by drinking quite a bit (maybe 2-3 times per week) along with heavily smoking (cigarettes and marijuana) and frequent visits to the tanning salon. I've asked two different docters about my first trimester behavior, but they've all reassured me that my baby is "likely" to be okay; it isn't much comfort though. I already had one miscarriage two years ago and am familiar with the pain and am scared of what I might have done to my baby. I was wondering if anyone was educated on damaging the embryo in the early trimester or if any mommys made a few mistakes their first 7 weeks. (Fyi, I have already stopped the smoking and drinking and tanning now) Any information or advice would help - Thanks

since your baby is feeding off of what is called a yolk sac for now (and will be will 10 weeks along when the placenta forms) so all that stuff probably didnt even get to your baby.....and the tanning...i would say you did no harm there either.
some dr.s even say it is safe to tan in pregnancy (i dont feel it is however)
my fiend tanned, and smoked ciggaretts all through her pregnancy and her baby boy was okay at birth (he was born about 3 weeks early but that isnt too soon for most babies) and he weighed over 6 lbs....
when i was preg. with my first baby girl i had taken all kinds of nyquil (10% alcohol) and sinus pills and tylenol before i knew i was pregnant and she just turned one yesterday, she is very healthy, always has been
things are okay....you cant help what you did before and the stress of worring about it is probably worse than the stuff you did anyway....just relax...your baby will be fine!
just be carful in the future
HI, I was taking levaquin, and augmentin when I found out that I was pregnant, and my doctor has reassured me that I am ok. The only thing is I can say about smoking and drinking, is that in my parents day, it wasn't said to be harmful, and I'm okay, so as long as you know now, and you have stopped, I'm sure that you will be fine!
in my fist trimester i drank a few days and smoked marujuana once( without knowing i was pg) and my little angel turned out fine, i think i smoked untill the brggining of 5 months being p/g and then i quit. but she's a very healthy happy little girl! so i am sure your little one will be fine, i was told it doesn't matter what you do early on in pg if you don't know but it's the choices you make after you find out that metter! Good luck and the best to you through your pregnancy!

I think that you and your baby will be fine. I didn't know I was pregnant til I was 2 months along and I did drink every weekend and such. But my daughter turned out fine and healthy. (Actually she is a bit mature, intelligent, and bright for her age (she's 18months and she's at a 3 year old level).) Well just remember to not do it again and that things will be fine. So, don't stress....
