Does anyone know if tiramisu is off limits during pregnancy due to the raw eggs in it? I absolutely love tiramisu, and I may not be able to resist temptation.

Personally I wouldnt eat it with raw eggs in it... I just wouldnt want to take any risks with raw eggs. Usually they are fine but there is always that small chance!
You can get it without raw eggs in it just read the labels also you could look online for recipes of it that do not use raw eggs!

It's a dessert, with whipped stuff and ladys fingers, yummy. Not sure how it's made, I didn't think it had raw eggs, hmm, now I know. I knew it was usually made with liquer sprinkled on it though. I would probably avoid it if it really does have raw eggs in it. Funny you asked that though, I was wondering the same thing about the store bought Eggnog...doesn't say if it is pasturized or not. Anyone know?
Tiramisu is a no-no due the the raw eggs. I guess you could eat it if you want to take the risk. It is up to you. I saw a picture of a Tiramisu in the Williams Sonoma catalog. It made my mouth water just looking at it. It is my favorite dessert! Store bought egg nog is pasturized and ok. Another one of my favorites. However, if I can't have my brandy with it then I don't want the egg nog.
Heh, I feel your pain, ladies. I am 31 weeks pregnant and absolutely dying for some sushi. I keep telling my husband he'd better make it for me as soon as we get home from the hospital with our baby!
This is funny because I had tiramisu when pregnant and didn't realize until I was half way through that there was quite a bit of rum in it. One little piece isn't going to hurt you. You'll be fine. Just don't make a habit of it.
And I didn't realize there were raw eggs in it. I thought you meant the rum. Anyway, if it's anything like key lime pie, then the eggs arent really raw. The lime juice cooks the eggs. I wonder if there is an ingredient in the tiramisu that neutralizes the egg.
I just have to say, as a chef, I make it all the time, and I have never put raw eggs in it. If for some reason, it does have raw eggs in it, I would stay away.
Store bought egg nog is soooo good! I love it! It has been a great substitute for ex lax too lol! Tiramisu sound really good! Now I want to try it! lol! Guess I will have to wait a while.

Key lime pie has raw eggs in it? I make them all the time and they are cooked, i guess there are different kinds! anyway i didnt' know that tiramisu had raw eggs in it, I always thought it was that ice cream cake. Anyway, eggnog from the store is ok, and I'm sure that if you bought tiramisu at a store (if you can) that it would not have raw eggs in it.
Anything in moderation cannot hurt....(pregnant or not) Unless it's tainted, but in my 24yrs of living I never came accross a bad egg...I doubt during 9 months of pregnancy you will too.
I had some sushie two...exactly 1 time. It was eel which they cook. Its so hard to stay away from things you love.
