Hello yes it something to do wuth when your pg and the blood flow ect. Pg can give you carpel tunnel or it can go away. But it does happen to people. I wold talk to your doctor about it and what you can do to make it feel better.
hi
i started to get that around midway through pregnancy and now i am in 3rd trimester and it is pretty bad. Doc says most likely carpal tunnel, it is common to develop that in pregnancy. But not much you can do about it other than deliver baby and see if it goes away. He suggested some kind of splint to use at night, that you can get over the counter.
I have the same thing. I am 24w2d, and mine started a little over a week ago. I called the doctor on friday to make sure it wasn't anything that could hurt the babies (I'd never heard of pregnancy induced carpel tunnel syndrome before), and they told me they babies are fine, but that wrist braces might help me. I decided that a little numbness was far less irritating than wearing braces, but it has gotten progressively worse each day in the last week. Even now, from typing this message, my hands are starting to tingle. Activities like brushing my hair and applying makeup take me a really long time lately because I have to give my hands frequent breaks.
I too have heard that the only answer is delivering, so it sounds like we just have to live with it. I've heard from other women that using the braces at night can really help. You can buy them at almost any drug store. I might look into that today.
It sure is getting to be a pain in the butt, though!

Have you been typing more in the last few weeks than you did prior, I found I got it when I found this site because I was typing alot more, but it gradually went away as my typing decreased and my arms/wrists got used to it. I also heard the braces work well, but never tried it, I didn't think I'd be able to sleep with it. Goodluck.
no actually i type for a living... and i have been sick to my stomach the last 3 weeks and i have been getting headaches off and on for the past 2 weeks... i also am having bad heartburn and acid reflux for the past 3 days... my sniffer is also working over time lately my nose has been picking up smells that never botherd me before... so guess ill just have to take a darn hpt

I developed the same thing in my 3rd trimester.. my doc said the same as other posters have said.. just to let you know.. that for me it did go away about 2 weeks after delivery.. ask your doc but i am sure it is normal for it to even happen at 17 weeks..

I had that with all of my pregnancy's. With my first one I didn't know what it was and got so scared I was 19 and thought I was having a stroke. My Dr. said it had to do with the extra fluid in my body pressing on the carpel tunnel and nerves. I did try these stupid wrist braces I was to wear at night with my last pregnancy but they were so uncomfortable i stoped using them. Don't worry it will go away.
With the last baby I got pregnant April 1st, found out I was pregnant in May, i think I started having problem with my wrist in June. so pretty early. It was later in my other pregnancies and not as bad. But with my last baby I was working on a computer calling customers and entering Data online.
