carpal tunnel syndrome

Yesterday I started having pain in my wrist. My mom had carpal tunnel syndrome when she was pregnant with my younger brother. I think I may have it now. does anyone have this?

Re: carpal tunnel syndrome

I have it too...in my right arm and wrist. I talked to my doc about it, and he said it will likely 'subside' when the baby is born. He said that it really isnt technically carpal tunnel. That it is likely just a pinched nerve resulting from everything pulling and growing inside you. As I type this, my arm is killing me (where my elbow is).

I would talk to your doc about it and see if he or she has any suggestions. I wear one of those wrist things that keeps your wrist in one position (like a brace, sort of). It actually does help.

Re: carpal tunnel syndrome

carpal tunnel, a tunnel that protects nerves that becomes inflamed causing pressure on the nerves. I have had many problems with my wrists except for carpal tunnel until I became pregnant. I wake up in the middle of the night with my hands numb. I hope it goes away after she comes out.

Re: carpal tunnel syndrome

Well....I don't have it now...but did years ago. only thing that helped was wearing a brace 24/7 and taking lots of anti inflamitory drugs..
