Hi, i'm 17 weeks pregnant with my 1st baby. This week i have felt a couple of kicks for the first time - more like being flicked from the inside!! This evening i have noticed what feels like a definate intermitent pulling sensation in my lower abdomen. It doesn't feel painful at all - just strange. I just wondered if anyone else experienced this - is it normal???? It's happened about 4 times in the last 3 hours and lasts for about a minute each time. Would appreciate your advice.................................. ..
Does the pulling feel like a tightening or squeezing? My recommendation is that you see the doctor just to be safe. I say this to almost every woman who has a gut feelign that something might not be right. Most of the time it's nothing, but better safe than sorry. In my case, I waited. I experienced some light menstrual cramping, lower back discomfort along with some tightening sensations in my lower abdomen around 19-20 weeks. At 17 weeks, everything was normal. At 20 weeks, cervix opened after I had rhythmic, albeit slight, contractions lasting overnight. Please see the doctor to be certain. If he or she is dismissive, get a second opinion. The best advice I can give pregnant women is to not be intimidated by doctors. Take charge of your pregnancy. Keep me posted.
No, iv'e had no pain at all either in my stomach or in my back. It's more like a slight tug every now and again from the inside. I'm trying to find the right word to describe it but having no luck. I'm so new at this pregnancy thing - could this feeling just be the baby moving around?? As i said i have had no pain or discomfort at all - just this weird new feeling.
I had a pulling sensation too around that peiod of my pregnancy. Seems like I couldn't even stand straight without feeling like something was stretching. Alot of ladies on here just said it was my uterus expanding and such and that it was totally normal. I also brought it up with my Dr just in case and he too said it was normal. But if the pains got really horrible to where I couldn't stand it, then that would be cause for concern. Still today in my 20 something week I have to stand up slowly so I don't get that pain and when I sneeze or cough hard I have to hold my stomach like a jolly fat man laughing.
Ive had this with all 4 pregnancys too. It was totally normal your just streching down there to make room for baby. it your concerned call the doctor or L&D at the hospital and just ask them.
I would think it's just your little one moving around. Just keep track of it mentally. If anything starts to HURT I would call your doctor and just check to see what they say. But with your 1st...all of these feelings are so new, it all feels strange!!
