I heard tap water is not good to drink when pregnant.but if it is filtered through one of those BRITA filters would it be safe?

Re: is filtered tap water ok to drink?

I would say it's ok to drink. WE get a report on our tap water and it's not healthy to drink, even through a filter, but if you have city water I would say go ahead and drink it filtered. Half the time I wonder if bottled water is pure or if it's just tap water.

The Brita water filter that is in the pitcher is really good because the water sits there and is actually filtered. The regular filters you put on your faucet really don't work at all. We had our water tested for impurities with filter and without and they were the same. The filter did nothing. So, we had a purification system put in the house. But the Brita filter in the pitcher I hear is very good. Also, it's not very expensive to have water delivered these days if you are concerned about contamination.

yes filtered water is fine, but even if your drinking plain ol' city tap its safe.....now well water is not so safe in pregnancy, and even rural water may need filtering, but city tap water is safe right from the faucet..but hey, if you have a filter, go ahead and use it cant hurt to be extra pure

I drink tap water. I think it depends on where you live too. I lived in Maine and the water had a lot of mercury in it (and it looked really bad) so we never drank it. I also lived in San Diego where the water was really gross. Now I live in Northern Cali and it actually tastes good and is clear.
