Hello everybody!

Today I had my dating scan and have been told I am officially 12 weeks, 5 days pregnant. My due date is now September 17. We got to see the baby on the scan which was amazing. The tech told me the little one seems to "enjoy doing headstands" because he/she was upside down.

We were even given a little photo which we have been staring at all night.

As many of you know, I have been suffering quite badly with sickness and dehydration. Seeing the scan today and having that photo makes all of this worth the pain and discomfort. Today whenever I felt really ill I just thought of that scan and the "headstands" (lol) and smiled.

What a great feeling to see your baby for the first time. My favorite u/s pic is still the very first one I got.

Our first u/s pic hangs on the frig. I have plenty of others but that one of our little bean is the best. Hope you start feeling better. I was pretty sick with m/s and then I got the flu. I ended up in the hospital all dehydrated. Not fun. Hopefully you feel better soon.

I was in the hospital with dehydration 2 weeks ago so I know how you feel. No fun at all! Hopefully we're over the worst of the sickness. Take care.

Tigger, that's great to hear!! I'm exactly 7 days ahead of your schedule/due date and have been dealing with nausea, etc. as well (for the record...it's just starting to ease up, but not by much). I'm having a hard time visualizing a baby in there & enjoying the moments because I feel so terrible every freakin' day.

I have a couple sonogram pics from 7 weeks on our refrigerator. Problem is...as cool as it is to see the little bean...in reality, there is nothing to see on a 7-week pic. It's just a blob, to be honest with you.

I heard the heartbeat 2 weeks ago, but that really didn't close the deal for me either.

I'll be having my next sonogram in about a week, and your story has given me some hope!!!!! I've been telling my husband I would probably get more excited if I could get some positive feedback that there's really a baby in there.

Hi Gayle,

You'll definately get to see a little baby.

In our photo the baby has an arm raised so that he/she looks as if they're waving at us. Have lots of fun and let me know how your scan goes.
