Info for traveling moms-to-be
Just got back from my monthly appt. and thought I'd share what my doc/midwife told me about traveling: I'd asked if there were any safe meds for motions sickness, because I'm going to the US Virgin Islands at the end of the month and will be doing a few boat trips & whatnot and I tend to get seasick. I have the motion sickness bands - DH bought them for me when I had morning sickness, but they were so tight they hurt, so I never wore them...and I know you can take ginger pills and other natural remedies for motion sickness/upset stomach, but I've always taken Dramamine which has worked great. BUT, I always thought you couldn't take it while pregnant...which brings me to why I'm writing - my doc/midwife looked it up on the computer and said it was an FDA Class B drug (which means that no controlled studies have been done in pregnant women but no evidence of fetal risk appears to be present - by the way, Tylenol is also a Class B drug) and safe to take! Woo hoo! So looks like I won't have to be barfy after all! Anyway, thought I'd share, in case any of you get motion sickness and want to take something for it.
