Re: What is the earliest a home pregnancy test can be used..
It depends on your cycle and when you ovulated. When was your last period? Most women ovulate about 2 weeks after their last period, then assuming you had sex at the right time, the fertilized egg would take a few days to implant into your uterus, then your body will begin making the hormone detected by the home tests.
To be safe, you should wait until you've actually missed a period to test - and you may even have to wait until a week or so after to be sure. My last period was Sept. 30, but I didn't test positive until Nov. 10. My cycle is generally 30-ish days, but even so, earlier tests in the first week of Nov. were all negative.
BTW, the pregnancy board is used by women hoping for a BFP (although most of us are already pregnant - there's a Trying To Conceive board as well) - if you are preg and need to consider other options, you may want to check out the other boards on HealthBoards.
