I really need to start exercising! i am 13 weeks pregnant and really want to get my fitness level up a bit as everyone says if u sit around all the time you will be too tired when it comes to labour! i actually agree.
I have this stepping machine, its the lateral thigh one and it works your whole body well! tones the thighs and bottom up!
Are these stepping machines safe during pregnancy? i obviously wont be going crazy but i really need the exercise

HI! Sure that exercise and most other cardio machines are fine. Just be sure to wear a heart rate monitor and try to keep your heart rate at 140bpm or below!! Don't rely too much on the built in heart rate monitors included with the machines, they are usually not accurate. I am 5 week pregnant and I use the treadmill, elliptical, stairmaster, bike, etc. GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!
If you didn't use the stairstepper before you got pregnant it isn't a good idea to start using it now.. Just like you shouldn't decide to start running if you weren't a runner before. I would say to start walking first to loosen the muscles and then tackle the stairstepper. Of course make sure your Dr. knows that this is a new machine for you I am sure he would suggest the same... of course you can simulate a walk on the stairmaster as well, just don't dive into a preprogrammed route. I run marathons and do a class for pregnant Moms on entering exercise programs.. there are things to watch out for.. know your body first and foremost.
