3D or 4D Ultrasound

Hi - has anyone had of these? I recently got some information in the mail about one and they are close to home and have considered getting one? What were other's experiences?

Re: 3D or 4D Ultrasound

Hi Sue

At our local private hospital they have the new 4D ultrasound and I'm very tempted to have it done. They're exspensive but I think it would be worth the money. Just a regular scan is exciting...I can't imagine seeing everything in even more detail! I've been told that you can get a copy of the scan on DVD to take as a keepsake. I'd also like to hear of other people's experience with the 4D scan.

Re: 3D or 4D Ultrasound

At my doc's office they have the 3d machine..and I just happened to get the room with it for my last sonogram.. I am at 39 weeks now and I had it done at 32 weeks. It is amazing.. it is like looking at an actual photo of the baby. We were able to see the baby's face so clearly that you could actually see the resemblence to my DH.

Re: 3D or 4D Ultrasound

Hello my doctor does these for all there patients just for fun at 33 weeks. I got them both. 3D is in color and 4D is in motion. If you do bring a video tape with you they 4D can be taped on a VHS. you can see her moving around in there. It was really neat and something you can always keep.

Re: 3D or 4D Ultrasound

We had the 4-d done at a place called Fetal Fotos, and it was pretty cool Our dr did a 3-d and a 4-d just because she and my husband are friends, but it only lasted for a minute and she couldnt print out any pics cause she wasn't supposed to have done it. But at the one we paid for, we got a DVD, and a whole bunch of pics. It was a little boring cause we had to wait on the baby to turn. My Mom and Dad went with us, they seemed to think it was cool also. The cost wasn't too bad, MIL paid for most of it, it was 195 I probably wouldnt have doen it if not for that.
Anyway, if you have the extra money it's pretty cool, Ihtink they said the best time was between 32 and 35 weeks.

Re: 3D or 4D Ultrasound

I had two done when i was pregnant and it is the most amazing thing ever. We had done it on fathers day weekend last year. When we walked out of the place he said that was the best fathers day gift he could of gotten. He loved. The place we went to was really great. We got to take family and friends(up to 5). They really enjoyed it. We got a cd with the 3d pictures on it and a dvd with the 4d stuff on it and that one was set to music. Oh man it was so worth the money we spent. I went 2 times because that is what my package included was two visit. I went to a place that only does 3d-4d ultrasound. It was done at my doctors office or the hospital. It was done by a highley trained ultrsound tech who worked for the local hospital. I went at 26 weeks and 32 weeks and it was amazing to see how much bigger she had gotten in such a shor amount of time. I highley recommed this.

Re: 3D or 4D Ultrasound

My DIL had this done as a surprise for my son. It was done at 33 weeks and is unbelieveable. There were a number of still shots and she chose one to enlarge to a 5x7. They printed the baby's name on it with the date of the U/S. Then they did a DVD which seemed to last about 15 minutes or longer. There was nice calming music playing in the background while Jake just moved, sucked his thumb and flashed us. It is amazing. You won't regret having it done!
