Brownish Discharge (33 wks.)

Hi everyone, I woke up this morning with a little brown dicharge on my panty liner and after wiping. I'm not having any cramps. I've already called my doctor and have an appointment for later this morning. I was wondering if anyone has had this happen at this stage of pregnancy (33 wks). I'm trying not to worry too much. Thanks.

Lynn

I wonder if that could be some of your mucous plug?

I was told by my Dr that it happens frequently to preg. women especially at your stage it is common after sex as well but she told me its a result of your cervix being so sensitive from being preggers, it could be part of your mucous plug but usually that is mucousy with a pink streak in it but if it happened while you were asleep then from it sitting overnight were oxygen can get to it that can most likely change it from pink to brown.

Re: Brownish Discharge (33 wks.)

I'm 32 weeks and frequently have a brownish looking discharge in my pantyliner as well. But I never have it when I wipe. But I was so freaked out about it around 3 months ago, that I went in to the dr and she said it was nothing to worry about. Like someone else said, the discharge can change color the longer it sits in your pad. And my dr also said that a brownish discharge on the toilet paper isn't a cause for concern at this later stage in pregnancy. But it's always best to get it checked out, like your are. But I am sure you are just fine!

Re: Brownish Discharge (33 wks.)

Thanks everyone for your replys. I just returned from my Dr. He said I have
a yeast infection and the light brown discharge is a normal sign of infection. He told me to use Monistat for a few days and it should clear up. That's a relief. I did notice very white, thicker discharge during the week but I wasn't itching or burning so I didn't think anything of it. He said yeast and urinary
track infections are pretty common during pregnancy. This was my first
scare in 33 weeks and I hope my last. - Lynn
