shaking tummy?

This is probably a silly question but..... Can it harm the baby if your belly gets shaken around? Let me explain this a little better. When I received my ultrasound a few weeks ago the tech would shake the doppler against my belly so the baby would move into a postion where she could see what she needed to see. My husband was with me when I had my ultrasound done and thought it was neat how the baby would move when she shook my belly. And now my husband will shake my belly to try and get the baby to move. Anyway, what I'm getting at is this, could my husband shaking my belly cause the baby any harm?

Thanks
-Samantha

Re: shaking tummy?

No that is not going to hurt your baby. I wouldnt recommend putting one of those vibrating weight loss things on there, lol, but just a little shaking won't hurt! That baby is very well cushioned. Sometimes I even push my little guys feet so they will get out of my ribs! My friend and my Mom told me to do that, and my sis and I are fine, and my friends three kids are fine too! So, a little shaking like that is not gonna hurt!

Re: shaking tummy?

the tech shook the doppler thingy around on my belly too. My DD does it all the time to get the baby to move. I drive a paper route and have some pretty bumpy road, and know that my baby is fine, there is soooo much cushioning in there, that you won't harm the baby in any way. think about it this way also, if you are having sex with DH, that shakes him around also lol, and they don't tell you, you can't have sex lol. That would stink
