34.5 weeks and dilated???

Went to the Dr today and she checked my cervix because I have had a lot of those contractions - well it's changed 70% and I am dilated to a "1" - which I know I can be this way for a while, but she now has me working half days for a little over a week to see if that changes things or slows things down. Any one else experienced this? This is my first, so I don't know what to expect.
Any help or advice would be appreciated as always!

Re: 34.5 weeks and dilated???

I did too! almost the exact same thing happened. I was having little contractions, I couldnt even feel them, every 5-8 minutes and dilated 1 cm and 70 effaced so they put me on fluids, they said I was dehydrated, but I just can't see how that was possible, but whatever and by the next day, with the shot the contractions had stopped and I was only 60 effaced. I think it is pretty normal. And you are far enough along, that if for some reason your baby does come out, he should be fine!
good luck!
