contractions

Hi everyone,I am 35w 5 days and have been having contractions dr said it's normal at my stage of pregnancy and to call if I get 6 or more per hour well last night they came about every 8-10 min but were just really tight.I called L&D they said I should put my feet up and drink water and come in if they didn't space. The contractions did space out but not stopped only a couple an hour. is anyone else having or had this happen I think I am a little more nervous because I had my son @ 36w 2d which is right around the corner. any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Re: contractions

You should do whatever you gut tells you. If you think labor might be starting early, go to L&D. The worst they can do is tell you they're Braxton-Hicks contractions (although those are not at regular intervals) and send you home. It's better to be safe than sorry. If you are in pre-term labor and they catch it early enough, they may be able to stop the contractions. Don't let them tell you over the phone to stay home if you think you are in labor. Go with your gut.

Re: contractions

When I called the nurse did say if you are concernred enough to call you should probably come in I told her I had seen the doctor a few days ago for it and thats when she said I could try to space them.I kinda made it sound like they didn't think I should come in sorry.
