I had my son via c-section 3 weeks ago and would like to know when it's safe to take a hot bath? I've been showering 1-2 times a day to keep my incision area clean but I'm dying to take a bath. I'm worried it might be too soon though and I don't want to get an infection.
I don't know much about this, but I noticed nobody answered you yet... if you still have staples in, you will want to wait for a bath until they are taken out...and then ask your doctor, but I think at that point it will be ok. You never want to soak an incision that isn't potentially closed all the way.
The hospital told me I could bath when I got home. I'm a little nervous about my incision though and concerned about infection. I just wanted to get other women's feedback on when they took a bath safely after having a c-section.
I had my daughter on May 17 at 5:12 pm on Tuesday, i was home thursday morn and hve had baths everyday since then. This is my third child and c-section.
