I'm 14 wks pregnant and I was wondering if anyone knows if it's okay to lay out in the sun when your pregnant. I have a pool where I live and I 'd love to lay out by in a binki. But I want to know if this will hurt my baby?

You will be more apt to burning so you should wear sunscreen.

It is perfectly fine to sunbathe while pregnant. I posted this same question a few weeks ago and have since talked to both my Drs about it. Just wear sunscreen like you normally would to protect your skin, but it will not harm the baby at all. No UV rays reach the baby. They would have to go through your skin, your body, and your utereus. Go lay out and enjoy yourself!

It's fine! babies like light! And it's good for you to get extra vit d and getting some sun boosts your mood. Not sure why, but there was a thing on the news the other day that if you were depressed you should catch some rays!
Have fun!

Sunbathing is fine as long as you take the same precautions you normally would, ie. sunscreen, drink plenty of fluids. If you have a bump though you should make sure it doesn't burn. Then again you should never let any part of your body get burned.

Have fun and enjoy the sunshine! Wish we had some sun here...

I was told it's fine to lay out. Use the sunblock to prevent burning. Tanned or sun damaged skin is more likely to get strech marks. Sun damaged skin has lost some of it's elasticity, so may not shrink back well after the baby is out.

LOL..Ive been sitting out all weekend. Just make sure you use tan lotion with sunscreen, drink lots of fluids and when its too hot, get some shade. Its been such a crappy rainy spring that since the sun decided to come out saturday, Ive been enjoying it!.
