Cervix being sewn shut

Do any of ya'll know anything about that procedure. The girl I told you about earlier that lost her twins, is going to try to get prengnat again later. The drs are not really sure she can, but unfortunatley, her husband has opted not to tell her that yet. Anyway, I talked to her today, about high risk drs, she wants to go to one. Although the reason she lost her twins was because of an infection, but she really wasn't getting monitored well. Anyway, she does have scarring, she had to have two D&Cs the first time to get the little boy out, he wouldnt come out. It was really odd, because his water hadn't broken and the contractions had stopped, we wonder why he couldnt have stayed in, anyway, then she had to have another because all of the stuff hadn't come out. So it may be hard for the egg to implant and for her to carry the baby. Anyway, she wants to find a dr who will tell her that they will sew her cervix shut as soon as she finds out she is pregnant. I don't much think that she will be able to find a dr to do that. Cause that is pretty much a last resort, right? Have any of ya'll had an experince like that? Or been succesful with a pregnancy with scarring?

Re: Cervix being sewn shut

I have read something about doctors sewing a cervix shut but only in the case of an incompetent cervix that has caused prior miscarriages. If her miscarriage (s?) weren't related to that, I'm sure they wouldn't do it. It wouldn't prevent the baby from dying in a miscarriage, anyhow, it would only prevent stuff from coming out.

Re: Cervix being sewn shut

Yeah that is what I thought.
WHen she lost the twins, they were gonna sew it shut, because the twins weren't dead, and the labor had stopped, until her water broke. But I think she is wanting it to help keep the baby implanted, but I don't think it would help that.
Thanks for replying!
