I'm almost 24 weeks along and I was just wondering how much weight is normally gained up to this point? I haven't gained much, but as far as I know that's ok since the doctor hasn't said anything about it. I've gained about 6 or 7 pounds total since the beginning.
6-7 lbs sounds fine at 24 wks. Of course, everybody is different ( depending on their pre-pregnancy weight and health). If you were of normal weight, then you're "growing" just fine. I know that doctors like women to gain 25-30 lbs if they're not overweight to begin with. It's toward the last 4-6 wks, that you'll probably gain 1 lb a week. Baby grows alot during this time. Remember to eat healthy and exercise if you can ( a walk is fine). I put on 27 lbs and could only walk for exercise ( had problems with spotting and bleeding). The weight all came off within 6 months. Wishing you well!
Im 21 weeks and Ive only gained 2lbs. But I still carry some baby weight from prev pregnancy. Also, Im only keeping down 1 meal a day and thats usually breakfast. Go to the Dr. tomorrow for u/s.
I had only gained about that much by that point. Then, all of a suuden, at my 28-week appointment, I gained 10 lbs that month and another 8 by my 32 week appointment and hadn't changed anything about my eating habits; it all went to the baby. Your baby will gain the weight it needs to. If there is a concern, your doctor will discuss it with you.
I am in my 36th week and I have gained a total of 10 lbs. My doctor actually yelled at me because I gained 3 lbs in 2 weeks where I should only have gained 2! Ya just can't win!
