I guess pressure makes the bag break. In my experience, I was 37 weeks with a horrible cold and blew my nose really hard, well, my water broke at the same time. I had no warning, and I'm not sure if others do either. With my second, the Dr. broke it in labor, and with 3rd it broke on it's own at about 7 cm. Hope this helps.
pregnancy & the start of labor is such an amazing process...we know that the breaking of the waters doesnt actually mark the begining of labor. Pressure does make sense I guess thats when the contractions get progressivley worst. How amazing....I am 38 weeks and some days...can't wait for my next appointment to see how im progressing. good luck all!!
I searched all over the internet last night for an answer to this, cause I am really curious, I am going to ask the dr on Friday, if I remeber!
Me too and got just as far as you did..haha! I did find some other interesting facts tho here they are...If your water breaks and your laying down it'll probably be a gush, but if your water breaks and your standing up it could just be a trickle caz the babys head will stop the flow. Also there is no such thing as a dry birth because 1/3 of the water is replaced every hour!
I honestly had NO warning...no contractions or anything.....though I was a few days past due so i was uncomfortable and had a bit or pressure but that was it.
Ok I am here with the answer!
There are three things that can make it break.
One is pressure like we thought, either from contractions, or from the baby droppign down.
The second is from the cervix having dialated and thinned and air being able to get to the membranes adn thin them out.
The third is from an infection getting to them.
